Learn how to use time blocking to manage your daily activities, from setting priorities and estimating durations to using digital calendars and the latest AI features.

Time blocking is a time management method that divides your day into scheduled periods. Each block is reserved for one task or one type of work. Many people already use it without realizing it, for example through Google Calendar.

The method is popular again in 2026 because calendars are getting smarter. Google Calendar and Microsoft Viva Insights can book focus time automatically. AI-based schedulers also shift your blocks when a meeting lands on top of them.

Steps for Building a Daily Time Blocking Schedule

On August 4, 2026, RRI published a set of basic steps for beginners. Here is the sequence you can follow:

Write down every task that must get done today.

Rank the tasks by importance and deadline.

Set a realistic duration for each activity.

Set aside break time between blocks.

Enter all the blocks into your calendar.

You can use a digital calendar, a notes app, or a paper planner. Choose whichever feels most comfortable so that scheduling doesn’t become extra work.

Almost everyone underestimates how long tasks take at first. That’s why the first week often feels like a failure. Treat this phase as practice, then refine your estimates the following week.

Add buffer time so your schedule doesn’t fall apart when a task runs over. Cal Newport links this method to deep work, meaning focused hours protected from interruptions.

Why Time Blocking Helps You Stay Focused

Asana says time blocking reduces context switching. Dedicated blocks protect time for important work. The method also makes it clearer where your time goes.

Interruptions are costly. A 2008 study found that workers who were interrupted did about two other tasks before returning to the original one. During that gap, their time pressure and mental load increased.

ClickUp cites the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine. According to ClickUp, the journal’s researchers found that time blocking and similar methods improved productivity. This claim comes from the ClickUp article, so check the original journal if you need primary data.

Combining Time Blocking with Other Methods

The Pomodoro technique works well inside a block. Break one block into 25-minute sessions, each followed by a 5-minute break.

It’s also worth telling time blocking apart from timeboxing. Time blocking reserves a slot for a single task, while timeboxing is looser and better suited to schedules that change often.

Asana warns that time blocking is hard to pull off if your calendar is full of meetings. Slack adds that a personal schedule isn’t enough when team expectations collide. So agree on focus-hour rules with your colleagues.

A weekly review determines whether your time blocking lasts. The Goals and Progress guide suggests a 30-minute session every Friday. If you struggle to focus for long stretches, use shorter blocks and feel free to move your schedule around without guilt.

Your social battery is the energy you have for socializing. Learn the signs it’s running low and how to schedule social time around your own needs.

A social battery is a metaphor for how much energy a person has for socializing. A full battery means plenty of social energy is left, while a low battery means the opposite.

The term isn’t an official medical one, but therapists often use it. The size of a person’s social battery varies, and so do the things that drain and recharge it.

Social battery pins have also become a trend on social media. These small badges show how much social energy the wearer has at the moment. Indonesian media outlets such as Fimela, IDN Times, and RRI have also covered the topic.

What Makes Your Social Battery Drain Fast

The type of interaction and how long it lasts both affect how long your social battery holds up. Long gatherings drain more energy and leave little chance to recover. Back-to-back social plans with no breaks wear you down faster.

Networking events full of small talk can drain your energy quickly. By contrast, laughing with close friends can restore your energy or drain it more slowly. Texting constantly and scrolling through social media can also wear down your energy without you noticing.

Extroverts generally have a longer-lasting social battery and a lower tolerance for being alone. Even so, anyone can feel drained, extroverts included. Experts agree that even extroverts need downtime to recover.

Signs Your Social Battery Is Running Low

Fimela names tiredness and a desire to be alone as the most common signs. Getting irritable easily and having trouble focusing at work or in conversation are also on the list. If ignored, that exhaustion and short temper can lead to chronic stress.

Quietly hoping a friend will cancel plans at the last minute can also be a signal. Another is feeling tired every time you finish seeing people. In that state, a person needs to pause their social life.

It’s important to tell a drained social battery apart from a mental health problem. With social anxiety, people feel tense from the start, while introverts feel comfortable until their battery runs low. A Dawn report from October 2026 warns that time alone can actually make things worse if the cause is social anxiety or depression. Gradually withdrawing from social life is also a warning sign.

How to Manage Your Social Time Around Your Needs

The first step is to learn your own energy patterns. Calm recommends a seven-day energy audit. Give each social activity an impact score from minus 3 (drains you quickly) to plus 3 (restores you). Your notes will show which people and activities recharge or drain your battery.

Clinical psychologist Perpetua Neo divides social energy into three levels: baseline minimum, regular, and bonus. This split helps a person match their social schedule to their energy and mood. The same article also suggests keeping a “don’t” list of people or things that regularly drain your energy.

Change the format of invitations to protect your energy. For example, swap a crowded dinner for a relaxed walk with one friend.

Set aside time after an event to recover.

Decide on your exit plan before the event starts.

Turn off unnecessary notifications and set specific times to check your phone.

Prioritize the people who recharge your battery.

It also helps to be honest with friends about your current energy level. Let them know that time alone matters for your well-being. If you have a limited battery, it’s fine to leave an event when it feels like too much. Someone is always the first to go home, and that’s normal.

The way you recharge should also suit your own needs. Getting enough sleep is the foundation for restoring social energy. IDN Times suggests scheduling time alone, limiting social media, and spending time outdoors. Your social battery capacity often changes from week to week, so adjust your social schedule regularly.

Compare e-books and print books using 2025 to 2026 surveys, research on reading comprehension, and the reading habits of Indonesian readers.

E-books vs. print books is a debate readers keep coming back to. The choice of format comes down to price, eye comfort, and where people usually read. That is why the answer can differ from person to person.

A Pew Research Center survey from October 2025 gives a recent picture from the United States. Among American adults, 64% read a print book in the past 12 months, 31% read an e-book, and 26% listened to an audiobook. Print is still the only format used by a majority of Americans, while e-book readership has grown from 17% in 2011.

Reading Habits in Indonesia

A GoodStats survey conducted from January to February 2025 included 1,000 respondents from various regions. Of those, 79% preferred print books and 18.5% preferred digital formats. Focus group discussions in the survey showed that the feel and smell of paper still appeal to readers.

Another result comes from Rakuten Insight in 2023, cited by Databoks Katadata. About 83% of respondents said they like reading books on their phones, while only about 12% read physical books. These figures differ sharply from GoodStats. The gap likely comes from differences in survey methods and the questions asked.

Age also shapes the choice. A Snapcart survey from October 2024 of 591 respondents found that Gen Z prefers reading books online, while millennials prefer print. So reading habits in Indonesia can’t be summed up by a single number.

How Format Affects Reading Comprehension

Beyond preference, researchers have tested how format affects comprehension. A 2018 meta-analysis by Delgado and colleagues combined 54 studies with more than 170,000 participants and found that reading on paper had the advantage. Virginia Clinton found a small but significant negative effect for reading on screen in an analysis of 33 studies.

In the e-book vs. print comparison, the type of text matters a great deal. According to Clinton’s analysis, the gap appears only with expository texts, not with narrative texts such as novels. Clinton also noted that screen readers often rate their comprehension higher than it actually is.

The type of device matters too. A recent network meta-analysis reports that reading on handheld devices, such as tablets, e-readers, or phones, is closer to reading on paper than reading on a computer screen. The differences between formats are also small, so personal habits still play a big role.

How to Choose Based on Your Habits

Digital books suit you if you travel often or want to keep costs down. They are cheaper, and a digital file does not wear out over time. A study of college students noted similar reasons: no need to buy expensive print textbooks, and greater convenience.

Print books are better for material you need to study carefully, such as textbooks or nonfiction. You can mark pages, write notes in the margins, and read without notifications. Novels and light reading are relatively safe to read on a screen.

Many readers end up using both, depending on the situation. You can carry an e-book on your phone for trips and keep print books for serious reading at home. The e-book vs. print comparison is clearest in the format you most often finish.

Free-to-play vs. premium games: which earns more? See the latest data from Newzoo, Steam, and Indonesia’s 2026 game market for players and developers.

The debate over free-to-play vs. premium games is heating up again in 2026. Free-to-play (F2P) games can be downloaded at no cost and make money from in-game purchases. Premium games ask players to pay upfront before they can play.

Newzoo estimates the global games market will reach US$213.9 billion in 2026, up 6.1% from last year. Mobile games account for US$121.1 billion, consoles for US$46.9 billion, and PC for US$45.9 billion.

Microtransactions are expected to be the largest business model again. Premium releases and mid-priced games continue to support full-game sales revenue. In other words, both models still make money, but the results differ by platform.

Free-to-Play Revenue on PC and Steam

Newzoo’s 2026 PC and console report shows that F2P revenue per hour played on PC rose 10%. That increase came even as playtime fell 8.1%. On PC, microtransactions generated US$20.6 billion, while premium content brought in US$12.5 billion.

The first half of 2026 was weaker, however. According to Newzoo, most established live-service and evergreen games were flat or down compared with last year. Softer performance from both free-to-play and annual premium games put pressure on digital revenue in the six Western markets.

Steam data tells a different story. Alinea Analytics estimates that Steam revenue in September 2026 reached US$1.7 billion, up 13% from a year earlier. F2P games made up 25.6% of revenue among the top 500 titles, even though they were only 16% of those titles.

Four F2P games, Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends, PUBG, and Dota 2, earned about US$168 million. That is almost 10% of Steam’s total revenue for the month.

The Strength of Premium Games Amid F2P Dominance

Counting free-to-play vs. premium games on Steam gives a different result. According to Alinea, premium games sold as a one-time purchase made up 78% of Steam revenue in the first half of 2026. This figure is only an estimate, not an official financial report. The 25.6% F2P share mentioned above applies only to the top 500 titles, not the entire Steam catalog.

Grand Theft Auto VI is the next big driver for premium games. Newzoo expects its release in November 2026 to lift console full-game spending by 17.5%. That is the highest growth of any business model. Without GTA VI, console revenue is expected to stay flat.

The premium model has another advantage: revenue is easier to predict. Developers also don’t have to design their games around a monetization system. Still, premium games must compete with free games that draw attention at no upfront cost.

Fungies’ 2026 monetization guide notes that many successful games combine several revenue sources. Battle passes with both free and paid rewards keep players engaged.

The State of Indonesia’s Game Market

An INDEF report puts the value of the national game market at around US$2 billion in 2025, equivalent to IDR 36 trillion. Local developers capture only about 5% of that revenue. Most Indonesian players still play games made abroad.

The market is dominated by free-to-play mobile games. Developer revenue depends on a small share of players who buy in-game items. This risk should be weighed before choosing a business model.

Garena is an example of this model’s success. Its segment revenue for 2025 reached US$2.41 billion, up 26.2% from 2024. Sea Limited says Free Fire remains one of the most-played mobile games in the world.

In the free-to-play vs. premium competition in Indonesia, mobile holds the largest share. Mobile accounts for more than 90% of national game industry revenue. Players willingly buy skins and battle passes in games like Free Fire and Mobile Legends.

Habit stacking attaches a new habit to a routine you already have. Learn the formula, see examples, and find out what recent research says about making good habits last.

Habit stacking is a way to build a new habit by attaching it to a routine you already follow. The existing routine acts as an anchor, or trigger. The technique has drawn fresh attention throughout 2026, from health media to employee wellness newsletters.

James Clear popularized the term habit stacking in his 2018 book Atomic Habits. The basic idea comes from BJ Fogg, a behavior researcher at Stanford, who calls it anchoring in his Tiny Habits method. Outside magazine recently reported that psychologist Craig Kain has used the technique in his clinical practice for years.

According to Kain, willpower often gets in the way of lasting change. Habit stacking removes that obstacle because the trigger is already in place. You don’t have to force yourself to remember. You just finish one routine and move on to the next habit.

An Easy Habit Stacking Formula

Clear sums up the technique in one sentence: After I [current habit], I will [new habit]. For example, after I pour my morning coffee, I will write one sentence in my journal. The formula forces you to pick a clear time and place.

Choose an anchor that happens almost every day, has a clear beginning and end, and takes place in the same location. Brushing your teeth, making coffee, or sitting down at your desk all qualify. The frequency should match, too, so a daily habit needs a daily anchor.

The March 2026 edition of Marquette University’s employee wellness newsletter offers similar examples. Drinking a glass of water, stretching for one minute, or taking a short walk can all be attached to a daily routine. Habits this small are easier to keep because they don’t take much time.

Fogg recommends keeping a new habit under two minutes in the early stages. He also suggests celebrating that small win, for example with a smile or a fist pump. According to a review by The Meaning Movement, habits form more slowly without that celebration.

What the Research Says About Habit Stacking

Direct scientific evidence for habit stacking is still limited. The Boston Globe reported in April 2026 that Katy Milkman, a professor at the Wharton School, has not found a large study proving it works. Still, Milkman says the technique fits with theories of habit formation.

Milkman explains that consistent repetition is the most important ingredient in forming a habit. A daily trigger from an old habit helps you repeat the new behavior more often. Another source, Persaud, adds that research on behavioral therapy shows people stick better to habits that are prompted by a cue.

The main reference on how long habits take to form is a study by Phillippa Lally and her team at University College London. They followed 96 people for 84 days and published the results in the European Journal of Social Psychology. On average, participants needed 66 days for a new behavior to feel automatic, with a range of 18 to 254 days.

Lally also found that missing a single day made no significant difference. Participants who were highly inconsistent did not manage to form a habit. Exercise took about one and a half times longer than eating or drinking habits.

An analysis in The Behavioral Scientist cautions that the 66-day figure is the median among participants who succeeded. They made up about 48 percent of the group. So treat that number as a rough guide, not a promise.

How to Apply Habit Stacking Step by Step

Start with just one stack. List the daily routines that are already automatic, then pick one as your anchor. Attach one small habit right after it.

Keep your supplies near the anchor. If your anchor is making tea, store your vitamins next to the kettle. The first step feels easier when the tools are in plain sight.

Add a second habit only after the first one feels automatic. The Griply app’s guide warns that stacking too fast can make both old and new habits shaky. Increase the duration or intensity gradually.

Here are a few example formulas you can use:

After I wake up, I will drink a glass of water.

After I brush my teeth, I will stretch for one minute.

After I sit down at my desk, I will write down my three priorities for the day.

After I eat dinner, I will read one page of a book.

If you miss a day, check whether your anchor is weak, then swap it for a more stable trigger. Record each success on a calendar or in a tracking app. A visible chain of checkmarks helps you monitor how consistent you are with habit stacking.

The latest DLSS vs FSR vs XeSS update as of October 2026: DLSS 5, FSR 4.1 for the RX 6000, and XeSS 3. Check the feature differences and supported GPUs before you upgrade.

Nvidia has released DLSS 5, AMD has brought FSR 4.1 to the RX 6000, and Intel has expanded XeSS 3.

The DLSS vs FSR vs XeSS race on PC has shifted quickly throughout 2026. Nvidia, AMD, and Intel have all released major updates in recent months. Here is where things stand as of October 27, 2026.

All three technologies render games at a lower resolution, then reconstruct the image to match your display. The result is higher fps with image quality close to native. DLSS only runs on RTX cards, FSR is open to nearly all modern GPUs, and XeSS works best on Intel Arc. The biggest difference is which GPUs each one supports.

DLSS 4.5 and DLSS 5 From Nvidia

Nvidia announced DLSS 4.5 at CES 2026 with a second-generation transformer model for Super Resolution. All GeForce RTX GPUs can use it through the Nvidia app in more than 400 games and apps. Players only need to turn on the override in the app.

Multi Frame Generation now has a 6X mode. Dynamic Multi Frame Generation automatically adjusts the number of generated frames to match a target fps. This feature is for GeForce RTX 50 and requires Game Ready driver 595.97 WHQL or later.

Ray Reconstruction also moves up to DLSS 4.5 and supports all GPUs from RTX 20 through RTX 50. TechSpot’s testing shows performance on par with the previous version, but with better image quality. Owners of older cards do not need to worry about a drop in fps.

DLSS 5 was announced at GTC 2026 with a neural rendering model that improves lighting and materials. This feature, called 3D-Guided Neural Rendering, debuts in NBA 2K27 for all GeForce RTX 50 GPUs. DLSS 5 works as an addition to the rendering pipeline, not a replacement for Super Resolution or Frame Generation.

Official support is currently limited to GeForce RTX 50 and RTX Spark devices. Hogwarts Legacy follows on November 5, 2026. Metro 2033 and Last Light Redux also support it already, with the most noticeable improvement on character faces.

FSR 4.1 and Redstone From AMD

FSR Redstone launched in December 2025 through Adrenalin driver 25.12.1, exclusively for the Radeon RX 9000. The package includes machine learning-based frame generation, ray regeneration, and radiance caching. All of these ML features require the RDNA 4 architecture.

In the DLSS vs FSR vs XeSS contest, AMD has only now expanded support through Adrenalin driver 26.10.1. This driver, released October 20, 2026, brings FSR 4.1 to the Radeon RX 6000. AMD says the model is optimized from the 6900 series down to the 6400 class. That is ahead of the original target of early 2027.

Support also covers Ryzen AI Max 300 and 400, as well as Ryzen AI 9 300 and 400. Owners of Ryzen Z2 handhelds need a driver from the device maker, because the standard Adrenalin package does not cover handhelds. Xbox Series X and S are listed as coming soon, with no release date. There are no independent benchmarks for the RX 6000 yet.

FSR 4 passed 300 games at the end of May 2026. AMD’s weak point is frame generation. FSR currently inserts only one generated frame. Slow-motion camera testing in August 2026 found frame pacing problems that cause stutter.

AMD has announced frame pacing fixes and FSR 4.1 coming to Vulkan through FSR SDK 2.4. As for multi frame generation, do not assume an 8x mode exists. That option only appears in RadeonTuner on driver 26.6.2, does not work, and AMD has not confirmed it. AMD has only mentioned ML-based MFG for the FSR Diamond generation.

XeSS 3 From Intel

Intel released XeSS 3 with Multi-Frame Generation through Arc drivers 32.0.101.8425 and 8362 in January 2026. This feature inserts up to three generated frames between two real frames. Players can enable 3x and 4x modes in XeSS 2 games through the Intel override.

Driver 32.0.101.8509 expands MFG to Arc Alchemist, Battlemage, and Core Ultra integrated graphics. Even so, Multi Frame Generation is only available on Intel hardware. Early testing on the Arc A380 shows that entry-level cards lack the power for 4x mode.

XeSS SDK 2.1.1 removes the XMX accelerator requirement, so frame generation can run on older Nvidia and AMD GPUs. XeSS frame generation requires Xe Low Latency to be enabled on all devices. XeSS upscaling on non-Intel GPUs uses the DP4a path, which gives a softer result, and the number of supported games is still below DLSS and FSR.

Choose an Upscaler Based on Your GPU

A blind test in February 2026 with more than 1,000 gamers across six games showed that most picked DLSS 4.5 over FSR 4 and native rendering. A follow-up test in April 2026 showed DLSS still ahead, but FSR 4.1 starting to close the gap. For image quality, DLSS still leads.

In practice, your GPU decides: DLSS for Nvidia, FSR for AMD, and XeSS for Intel. RX 6000 owners now have a reason to try FSR 4.1. AMD has not published performance cost figures, so real results will only show up after testing.

Frame generation adds latency, so it suits single-player games better than competitive ones. It also works poorly when base fps is below 40 to 60. For that reason, compare DLSS vs FSR vs XeSS directly in the games you play most before buying a new GPU.

Trail and road running shoes are built for different terrain. Compare outsoles, cushioning, and weight, then choose the right pair for pavement or dirt trails.

Running on asphalt and running on a trail call for different shoes. Some runners wear one pair for every surface, but that choice affects comfort, safety, and how long the shoes last. That is why it helps to understand the difference between trail and road running shoes before you buy.

Interest in trail running is growing. A writer at T3 says 2026 trail shoes look sleeker and perform on par with road shoes. Many major brands now have trail lines, including Nike, Hoka, Brooks, Salomon, and Altra.

This article breaks down the differences between the two types and explains how to choose by terrain. The information is compiled from shoe brand guides and recent running media.

Key Differences Between Trail and Road Shoes

The most visible difference is the outsole. Trail shoes have lugs, which are rubber studs that grip soil, mud, and rock. Road shoes have a smoother sole for a seamless ride on pavement. Trail shoe rubber also tends to be softer, while road shoe rubber is harder and resists wear.

Cushioning differs too. Road shoes are designed to absorb impact on hard surfaces like asphalt. Trail shoes usually have a firmer midsole, which makes them more stable on uneven ground. This added protection generally makes trail shoes heavier.

The upper is different as well. A trail shoe’s upper is thicker and has protective overlays, and many models also have a toe guard. Some models use a gusseted tongue and tightly woven mesh to keep out debris. Road shoes use a lightweight, flexible upper that stays cooler.

As for fit, trail shoes usually hold the foot more snugly for better control on technical trails, while road shoes typically leave more room for the toes. The table below summarizes the differences.

Aspect

Trail Shoes

Road Running Shoes

Outsole

Aggressive lugs, soft rubber

Smooth sole, hard rubber

Cushioning

Firmer and more stable

Softer, absorbs impact

Upper

Thick, with overlays and toe guard

Thin, light, breathable

Weight

Heavier

Lighter

Fit

Snug

Roomier

Terrain

Dirt, mud, rock, roots

Asphalt, sidewalks, treadmills

Choosing Shoes for Your Running Terrain

For asphalt, sidewalks, and treadmills, choose road shoes. Their hard rubber lasts longer on hard surfaces, and they are built specifically for roads and treadmills. Nike notes that hard pavement gradually wears down the soft soles of trail shoes. Running on roads also shortens the life of trail shoes.

For wet ground, roots, rock, and mud, trail running shoes are the safer choice. Aggressive lugs give reliable grip in mud, sand, and soil. Alexandra Sports recommends trail shoes for runners who spend more than 10 percent of their time off paved surfaces.

Routes that mix asphalt with packed dirt trails call for hybrid shoes. Fleet Feet says road-to-trail shoes combine a road shoe upper with a light trail outsole. Salomon cautions that this type is less aggressive on steep climbs and technical descents. Adidas considers road shoes suitable only for light trails.

Many athletes keep three pairs: one for road training, one for trails, and one for racing. Road marathoners should wear road shoes for both training and races, which helps the feet get used to the same shoe.

Runners who spend most of their time on pavement should stick with road shoes. A single pair of trail running shoes can round out your collection for weekend runs on dirt trails.

Not sure whether to try a low-buy or no-buy challenge? Read about the differences in rules, the latest 2026 trend data, and how to pick the saving challenge that is most realistic for you.

The low-buy challenge vs. no-buy challenge debate is back on social media throughout 2026. Both challenges ask people to hold off on buying things they don’t urgently need. The difference lies in how strict the rules are.

The no-buy challenge has become popular again in 2026 as a way to cut back on spending on clothes, home decor, entertainment, and eating out, especially among millennials and Gen Z. A dedicated no-buy group on Reddit has more than 70,000 members, and TikTok and YouTube videos about it have been viewed millions of times.

In Indonesia, the trend took hold earlier. The hashtag #NoBuyChallenge had been used nearly 50 million times on TikTok heading into 2025, and challenges to stop buying things have long been part of the minimalist lifestyle movement.

How the Rules Differ: Low-Buy vs. No-Buy

No-buy means stopping the purchase of nonessential items for a set period, whether that is a week, a month, or a full year. In a Credit Karma study, no-buy participants only bought replacements for things they truly needed, while low-buy puts limits on certain kinds of spending.

Low-buy has looser rules. Participants review what they bought last year, then write rules around the habits that strain their finances most. There is also a hybrid version with a small monthly “free spending” budget, usually $20 to $50, which makes the challenge easier to stick with.

The table below summarizes the differences.

Aspect

No-Buy

Low-Buy

Rules

No nonessential purchases at all

Purchases allowed within limits on amount or category

Flexibility

Low

High

Risk

Guilt when you break the rules

Spending decisions that keep coming up

Best for

Impulse buyers who need a firm break

Beginners who aren’t ready to stop completely

Latest Trend Data You Should Know

An Intuit Credit Karma survey of Americans shows nearly even interest in the two approaches. Of the respondents, 44% are doing or plan to do a low-buy, and 42% prefer the stricter no-buy. Gen Z is the most active group, with 53% interested in no-buy and 50% in low-buy.

The main reason people take part is clear, too. Some 41% of respondents named building savings as their top motivation. This data comes from a US survey, so patterns in Indonesia may differ.

The shape of the challenge is also shifting in 2026. The 2026 No Buy trend focuses more on cutting specific types of spending, such as food delivery or the viral water bottle of the moment, than on stopping all purchases. Some people also choose shorter durations, such as one quarter or one month.

Not everyone makes it to the end. The Italian outlet Money.it noted in August 2026 that many No Buy Year participants fail to finish, because the challenge is far more complicated than it looks.

Which One Is More Realistic for You?

Supporters of no-buy have a strong argument. One writer who just completed a year-long no-buy found it easier than low-buy, because there were no small decisions to make every day. The rules are black and white, so temptation is easier to turn down.

However, this approach has a downside. Finance content creator The Budget Mom says a total ban can trigger a scarcity mindset, similar to a strict diet, which leads people to overspend once the challenge is over. A single slip can also bring shame and guilt that make participants quit.

Low-buy offers a middle path. Financial expert Bola Sokunbi says many people fail because the rules they set don’t fit their own habits. Reddit community members advise beginners to start by limiting one category or by using the hybrid version, since finishing a small challenge is worth more than quitting halfway through a big one.

So for most beginners, low-buy is more realistic because it gives you room to breathe. One source quoted by Quartz suggests starting with a one-week no-buy before committing to a full year. Try writing down last month’s spending, then pick the one category that leaks the most money. From there, you can decide for yourself which fits you better in the low-buy challenge vs. no-buy challenge.

Three high school girls, Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu, are summoned to the world of Cephiro and become Magic Knights. The series runs for two cours, or about 24 episodes.

Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 is scheduled to air starting September 30, 2026. C2C returns as the animation studio. Fran, a cat girl, continues her adventures with her talking sword. This season features a new dungeon full of dangerous enemies.

A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on October 7, 2026. It suits viewers who enjoy characters with powerful magic.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! Season 2 opened the season on Crunchyroll on September 26, 2026. The story follows a villainess with extraordinary power who defeats her opponents. CBR says this season mixes action with satirical comedy. It suits viewers who like overpowered fantasy.

Fall 2026 anime schedules may change depending on production and streaming service policies. Katadata reports that some titles have already announced their legal platforms, including Netflix, Disney+, and Crunchyroll. Check the platform’s official announcements before you watch, since catalogs and schedules can differ by country.

Real Betis and Real Sociedad hold fourth and fifth place. Sevilla complete the European places in sixth.

The mid-table race is very tight. Alavés, Athletic Club, Celta de Vigo, and Villarreal all have 12 points.

Promoted Teams and the Relegation Zone

Three promoted teams joined the league this season: Deportivo de La Coruña, Racing Santander, and Málaga. They replaced Real Mallorca, Girona, and Real Oviedo, who were relegated last season. Deportivo sit 11th with 11 points.

Racing Santander are 13th, also on 11 points. Striker Yassir Zabiri has scored 7 goals for them. However, they have conceded 26 goals, the most in the league.

Málaga are bottom without a single win, with 5 draws and 5 losses. Valencia are 19th with 6 points, and Espanyol are 18th with 8. The La Liga 2026-27 standings may still change a lot in the coming weeks.

The GTA 6 release date is still November 19, 2026. See the major late-2026 games, which ones slipped to 2027, and how to track release date changes.

The GTA 6 release date has not changed. Rockstar Games has set Grand Theft Auto VI to launch on Thursday, November 19, 2026, exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. As of early October 2026, Rockstar had not announced any new delay.

That date has already moved twice. Rockstar originally targeted fall 2025, then pushed the game to May 26, 2026. On November 6, 2025, it slipped again to November 19, 2026, and Rockstar said the extra time would go toward polishing the game.

Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, also confirmed the date in its August 7, 2026 earnings report. This time it named November 19 outright instead of using a generic phrase like “the announced date.” A statement to investors is more reliable than an anonymous leak.

Latest GTA 6 Updates Ahead of Launch

Rockstar announced pre-order timing and launch details on June 24-25, 2026. Preload starts on November 12, but the exact release time on consoles has not been announced. Players should wait for an official announcement on that.

Rockstar has kept up a steady pace of promotion through summer and early fall. On August 27, it released GTA VI: An Extended Look. An official album of 34 songs is scheduled to come out alongside the game on November 19.

The PC version does not have a release date yet. Take-Two and Rockstar have only confirmed PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. According to one release tracker, Take-Two will report its fiscal 2027 second-quarter results on November 9, 2026. That report could bring the next update.

Other Major Games in Late 2026

Many publishers have chosen to steer clear of GTA 6’s release date. Dexerto lists GTA 6 as the only major game releasing in November. Fable from Playground Games has left the fall schedule and is now aiming for February 23, 2027. Cloud Imperium moved Squadron 42 from the fourth quarter of 2026 to the second quarter of 2027, and Chris Roberts named GTA 6 as the reason.

Several other games have slipped to 2027 as well. Lords of the Fallen 2 moved to the first quarter of 2027. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is now scheduled for February 12, 2027. Shenmue 3 Enhanced has also left the late-2026 schedule and moved to early 2027.

Even so, the end of the year is not empty. World of Warcraft: Forever is scheduled for November 4, followed by Edge of Memories on November 5. In December, Rayman Legends Retold arrives on December 3, and Monster Hunter Wilds for Switch 2 follows on December 4. Path of Exile 2 is scheduled for December 11 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. Dates for smaller games shift more easily, so check again as release day approaches.

How to Track Release Date Changes

Start with primary sources. The GTA VI page on Rockstar’s website remains the main reference for the consumer release date. The second delay was announced alongside Take-Two’s second-quarter earnings, so publishers’ financial reports are worth reading too. For other games, check the publisher’s official accounts or store page.

Use a release calendar that is updated regularly. GamesRadar, Video Games Chronicle, PC Gamer, and Dexerto publish month-by-month lists of release dates. GameSpot keeps a list of delayed games. Steam pages can help too, since Squadron 42 already shows its Q2 2027 target there.

Be wary of unconfirmed leaks. In May 2026, many rumors about a delay circulated, but Take-Two’s report showed the release date had not changed. Wait for an official announcement before changing your purchase plans or taking time off work. That way, you can keep tracking the GTA 6 release date without being swayed by false reports.

Zero Trust for AI agents is becoming a security standard for automated systems. Learn the core principles, the NIST and OWASP frameworks, and how companies can put them into practice.

Zero Trust for AI agents is a hot topic among cybersecurity practitioners right now. The concept is simple: every agent is treated as untrusted until proven legitimate. An agent must authenticate on every request, receive the minimum permissions needed for each resource, and have all of its actions logged for auditing.

AI agents work differently from ordinary chatbots. They call tools, read data, and take action on their own. They can also reason, spawn sub-agents, and act at machine speed. Older security models that rely on network boundaries are not enough for this kind of behavior.

Figures from the field show where the gaps are. The 2026 Cybersecurity Insiders report found that 56% of organizations are already exposed to agentic AI. Another 32% of organizations have no visibility into what their agents do, and 36% cannot see machine-to-machine AI traffic.

Security Risks in Automated Systems

The biggest risk comes from overly broad access rights. The same report says agents can take high-impact actions that are hard to reverse in collaboration, communication, and code systems. A single misdirected agent could delete data or send messages to thousands of people.

OWASP has already responded to the problem. In 2025, the OWASP GenAI Security Project released the Top 10 for Agentic Applications, with input from more than 100 industry experts. The list covers risks such as agent hijacking, tool misuse, and privilege abuse.

Keren Katz, one of the project’s leads, gave a clear warning. In her view, many companies are already exposed to attacks on agentic AI without realizing that agents are running in their environments. Some analysts also argue that older identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 are no longer adequate for agentic systems.

Frameworks in Use Today

The technical foundation comes from NIST SP 800-207. NIST defines zero trust as a concept for granting access per request with least privilege, in a system where the network is assumed to be already compromised. Its scope also covers non-human identities, credentials, and infrastructure.

Major vendors are starting to turn the standard into products. In March 2026, Microsoft introduced Zero Trust for AI, which covers the entire AI lifecycle, from data to agent behavior. According to emergent.sh, Microsoft launched agent security controls on October 19, 2026, with agents starting out with no access at all.

The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) offers a governance approach. The CSA Agentic Trust Framework, published in February 2026, applies zero trust specifically to agents. It groups agents by privilege level, from low-risk “intern” agents to “principal” agents with deep system access.

The four core principles remain the same: verify explicitly, use least privilege, assume breach, and continuously validate trust.

Steps to Implement Zero Trust for AI Agents

Start with identity. Okta recommends that companies treat agents as first-class identities, with zero trust controls, fine-grained authorization, and auditing just like human users. Without a clear identity, no one can be held accountable for an agent’s actions.

Here are the steps a security team can take:

Take inventory of all agents. “Orphaned” agents with no clear owner violate zero trust from the start. Bleeping Computer

Give each agent its own identity. 1Password says attestation lets an issuer bind an agent’s workload to an identity automatically, without human intervention.

Limit permissions per resource and per tool call.

Don’t let the language model decide authorization. Auth0 stresses that every agent action must be explicitly authorized outside the LLM.

Log everything. Ideally, logs include user intent, agent identity, tool calls, input context, authorization decisions, side effects, and results.

Monitor agent behavior in real time, and enforce policies as close to the action as possible.

Okta describes the rules of the game clearly. Access is granted only if the agent’s identity is verified, human authorization is active, and the action is within scope. Risk signals are also checked at that moment, before the agent continues its task.

Companies don’t need to wait for specialized products to get started. Auditing data permissions before turning on an agent is an inexpensive first step. From there, Zero Trust for AI agents can be built up in stages, starting with low-risk agents and working toward those that hold sensitive access.

Shadow AI agents now work quietly inside company systems. The 2026 CSA survey and IBM report show the risks, from data leaks to rising breach costs.

Shadow AI agents are automated AI systems that employees install without IT oversight, security review, or formal approval. These agents run inside company systems and often slip past application inventories.

This type of agent carries out tasks on its own, opens connections through the Model Context Protocol, and stores credentials. The risk differs from that of passive SaaS apps, and older shadow IT frameworks were not designed to detect it.

Gartner predicts that 40% of enterprise applications will include task-specific AI agents by the end of 2026, up from less than 5% in 2025. That pace of adoption outstrips the governance most companies have built. As a result, a growing number of agents are running with no one keeping track of them.

The Latest Data Reveals a Visibility Gap

The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Token Security survey, titled Autonomous but Not Controlled, describes the current state of shadow AI agents. Some 68% of organizations say they have high visibility into their AI agents. Yet 82% discovered at least one agent in the past year that their security or IT team did not know about. In addition, 65% experienced an agent-related security incident, with data exposure the most common impact.

Token Security funded the survey and sells identity security for AI agents. Readers should keep that in mind when weighing its conclusions. Only 14.4% of organizations deployed agents to production with full approval from their security or IT teams. Only 21% of respondents have a formal process for decommissioning agents.

Two other surveys show a similar pattern. Richmond Advisory Group, sponsored by Coalfire, surveyed 150 security leaders in North America in February. Of the incidents reported, 20% involved agents that created services without the operator’s knowledge, and 29% of respondents could not trace sub-agents. A survey of 235 security leaders found that 92% do not yet have full visibility into AI agent activity.

The IBM Cost of a Data Breach 2026 report puts a price on the problem. Ponemon Institute compiled it from 602 organizations that experienced a breach across 16 countries. Incidents involving shadow AI rose to 43%, up from 20% in 2025. The average cost of a shadow AI incident reached $5.39 million, compared with $4.63 million a year earlier.

The global average cost of a data breach is $4.99 million. IBM’s figures cover all unauthorized AI use, not just agents. Some 68% of organizations that suffered a breach lacked adequate AI governance, up from 63%. Among organizations with AI-related breaches, 92% lacked proper AI access controls.

Gartner estimates that Fortune 500 companies will use more than 150,000 AI agents on average by 2028, up from fewer than 15 in 2025. Today, only 13% of companies are confident their agent governance is adequate. An Okta survey in January 2026 found that only 27% of leaders consider their identity systems ready to manage non-human identities.

Recommended Control Measures

Gartner warns companies against blocking AI agents across the board, because employees typically turn to shadow AI instead. That approach can actually add risk. Companies need to regulate usage, not ban it.

According to Gartner, companies can start with four steps:

Set a policy on who can create and share agents, and which connectors are allowed.

Build a centralized agent inventory that also records shadow AI.

Control what data agents can access.

Provide training and build a community of practice around responsible AI use.

From an identity standpoint, each agent needs an owner, a defined scope of tasks, a credential lifecycle, and an audit trail tied to an accountable human. The CSA report recommends that companies treat agent creation as a governance event across all platforms. That way, every shadow AI agent is logged from the moment it is created, and its access can be revoked when it is no longer in use.

Compare digital and handwritten journaling for daily reflection, based on recent research, with the pros and cons of each and tips for choosing the method that suits you.

Digital vs. handwritten journaling is back in the conversation, especially among young people who want to look after their mental health. Daily journaling has become a trend again because many people want to put their feelings into words and reflect on their experiences. The options keep growing, from paper notebooks to phone apps.

Journaling means recording your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and daily experiences, either in a physical notebook or on a digital device. For daily reflection, the goal is the same: to pause and understand yourself better. The differences lie in how you write, how fast you write, and what distracts you along the way.

Here is a comparison of the two, based on research and reports available as of October 2026.

What Research Says About Handwriting and Typing

In 2024, researchers at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology published an EEG study in Frontiers in Psychology. Handwriting triggered widespread brain connectivity in the parietal and central areas, while typing did not. Another study appeared in the journal Life in February 2025. Its authors analyzed 30 brain imaging studies that compared handwriting with typing.

The researchers do not claim that handwriting prevents cognitive decline. They only suggest that activities involving many brain areas may help maintain neural connections. Note that this brain research compares the act of writing, not the quality of what goes into a journal.

The mental health benefits of journaling rest on separate research. A 2022 systematic review found small improvements in several mental health measures, with studies of varying quality. A meta-analysis of more than 4,000 participants also recorded a small long-term reduction in symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression. The mechanism is not fully clear, but the leading theory is that writing turns a chaotic emotional experience into a coherent story.

Pros and Cons of Each Method

In the digital vs. handwritten journaling debate, there is no clear winner. Each method has strengths and weaknesses. Here is a summary.

Handwritten journaling:

Feels more personal and is free of notifications.

Offers a sensory experience and is not affected by technical problems or data loss.

Users value the creative freedom, the slower pace, and the break from screens.

On the downside, a physical notebook cannot be searched by keyword.

Digital journaling:

Past entries are easy to search, reminders are available, and some apps offer encryption.

Entries sync across devices and can include photos, videos, or voice recordings.

On the downside, notifications are distracting, and users can become too dependent on technology.

One Day One user said the streak feature made their journal feel like an obligation.

AI-powered apps are now part of the mix too. According to a review from the developers of Life Note, the number of apps labeled “AI journal” in the App Store passed 40 in March 2026, up from 12 in January 2024. Claims about their benefits should be read with caution. The studies cited in that review used small samples and short durations.

Some apps also come from credible institutions. The Child Mind Institute developed Mirror, a digital journal for teens with an AI feature that analyzes writing patterns. Apps like this show that a digital journal can be designed with clear mental health goals.

How to Choose a Method for Daily Reflection

The final choice depends on your preferences, your lifestyle, and your goals for journaling. If you write to release emotions at night, a notebook and pen give you a calmer space. If you need notes that are searchable and portable, an app is more practical.

You can also use both. RRI gives an example of this approach, such as jotting down an initial idea in a notebook and then developing it in a digital document. You could write your raw reflections by hand, then move the key points into an app for safekeeping.

As for how long to write, research suggests that expressive writing for 15 to 20 minutes, three to four times a week, is beneficial. So you do not need to write at length every day. Journaling also does not replace professional care if you need it. Try a notebook for one week and an app the next, then judge for yourself how digital and handwritten journaling work for your daily reflection.

Gaming industry trends in 2026 are shaped by a $213.9 billion market, the debate over generative AI, and the growth of cloud gaming. See the latest data here.

Gaming industry trends in 2026 are unfolding in a market that is still growing, though the pace is starting to slow. Newzoo estimates the global games market will reach $213.9 billion this year, up 6.1 percent from last year. Consoles are projected to bring in $46.9 billion and, for the first time, surpass PC at $45.9 billion. Mobile remains the leader with a 57 percent share, or about $121.1 billion.

The biggest driver this year is Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games has scheduled its release for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Newzoo expects full-game spending on consoles to rise 17.5 percent, the highest of any business model. The PC version does not have a release date yet.

Player growth, on the other hand, is slowing. The global player count is expected to reach 3.7 billion in 2026, an increase of 4.4 percent. Newzoo says further growth depends on studios’ ability to retain and monetize the players they already have. As a result, 96 percent of studios now have a direct-to-consumer web store or plan to open one.

Generative AI Still Divides Developers

Generative AI is the hottest topic among developers. A 2026 GDC survey of more than 2,300 professionals found that 36 percent of respondents use generative AI tools in their work. The most common use is research or brainstorming, at 81 percent. At game studios, AI use stood at 30 percent, lower than at publishers and support teams.

Fifty-two percent of respondents say generative AI has a negative impact on the industry. That figure is up from 30 percent last year and 18 percent the year before. Only about 7 percent see a positive impact, down from 13 percent. A survey by Game Developer Collective and Omdia also found that generative AI use fell to 29 percent from 36 percent.

On Steam, AI use is becoming more visible. According to BCG, about 20 percent of new Steam releases disclose the use of AI, double the share from the previous year. BCG warns that AI could trigger a flood of new games, and low-quality products risk filling stores that are less curated. Developers who use AI carefully may also be tarnished by its bad reputation.

Cloud Gaming Grows from a Small Base

Cloud gaming enters 2026 with changes in pricing and services. Microsoft raised Game Pass Ultimate to $29.99 on October 1, 2025, then lowered it to $22.99 on April 21, 2026. Xbox is also testing a free, ad-supported cloud service in the Insiders channel. Since January 2026, NVIDIA has capped paid GeForce NOW subscribers at 100 hours of play per month.

The size of the market is still debated because each research firm uses a different definition. Mordor Intelligence puts it at $6.23 billion in 2026, with a projection of $21.62 billion by 2031. Fortune Business Insights uses a broader scope and arrives at $23.79 billion. Coherent Market Insights falls in the middle, at $14 billion.

Within the 2026 gaming industry trends, cloud gaming is still small compared with the overall market. According to data compiled by Tech Insider, its share is below 5 percent of the global market. Statista projects about 482.3 million cloud gaming users by mid-2026. That equals 6.1 percent of the world’s internet users.

Opportunities for Local Developers in the Indonesian Market

Indonesia is the largest games market in Southeast Asia, but local developers control only about 5 percent of it. An INDEF report shows the national games market grew from about $1.9 billion in 2022 to $2 billion in 2025. INDEF researchers say Indonesia plays more of a consumer role than a producer role in the global games industry.

The government has already laid the regulatory groundwork. Presidential Regulation No. 19 of 2024 governs the acceleration of the national games industry’s development. Presidential Regulation No. 37 of 2026 on the Creative Economy Master Plan 2026–2045 is expected to be a catalyst for the industry’s growth. In addition, the IGRS rating system was scheduled to begin operating in April 2026 as an age guide for players.

Export opportunities are also starting to open up. Euromonitor recorded the export value of Indonesian game developer services and digital content at $1.33 billion in 2024. At Gamescom 2025, ten Indonesian industry players held about 150 business meetings with potential global partners. Local players need to follow the direction of 2026 gaming industry trends so that their role does not end at being consumers.

Controller vs. keyboard and mouse for PC games is still debated in 2026. See how they compare by genre, aim assist, and Steam usage data.

The debate over controller vs. keyboard and mouse for PC games is still unsettled as of October 2026. Each input has its own strengths, depending on the genre and play style. PC players are also using gamepads more often than before.

Valve’s data shows this trend. Average daily controller usage on Steam rose from 5 percent in 2018 to as much as 15 percent in 2024, according to Valve’s 2024 report.

Of all controller sessions, 59 percent used an Xbox gamepad, 26 percent used a PlayStation controller, and 10 percent used a Steam Deck. About 42 percent of sessions also used Steam Input, a feature that lets games without official controller support be played with a gamepad.

The Genre Decides the Right Input

The choice between a controller and keyboard and mouse depends heavily on the type of game. Valorant and CS2 are built around keyboard and mouse, and controllers have no real support there. Strategy games like StarCraft also demand more than 200 actions per minute across the whole keyboard.

Controllers suit racing games, platformers, and action RPGs better. Console ports are also usually more comfortable with a gamepad. WASD on a keyboard produces only eight directions, while an analog stick reads movement gradually.

Genre

Best input

Reason

Tactical FPS (Valorant, CS2)

Keyboard and mouse

Precise aim and fast peeking

Crossplay battle royale

Depends on combat range

Controller is strong at close range, mouse at long range

Strategy and MMO

Keyboard and mouse

Many hotkeys and cursor control

Racing, platformers, action RPGs

Controller

Analog control and a comfortable hand position

Mouse movement maps directly to hand movement, while a controller stick only sets turning speed. That is why the mouse excels at flicks and switching targets. Keyboard and mouse take longer to learn, but their skill ceiling is higher.

Aim Assist and Crossplay Matches

Aim assist keeps controllers competitive in shooters. It slows the crosshair as it nears a target rather than locking onto enemies automatically. It also smooths out imprecise stick input.

In Apex Legends, aim assist strength is 0.4 on PC and 0.6 on console. Controller players have the edge in close-range duels, while mouse players do better at long range. As a result, match outcomes often shift with engagement distance.

FPSAim data as of May 2026 gives a fairly clear picture. About 38 percent of pro Apex players in the ALGS use a controller, and in Fortnite’s FNCS on PC the figure is about 25 percent. In Valorant, every pro player uses keyboard and mouse.

ImperialHal, the most successful Apex player in the ALGS, switched from mouse to controller because of its close-range advantage. Controller share in Warzone has also risen by about 10 percent over two years. These shifts are happening in games that mix both inputs in the same lobby.

Hall Effect and Comfort

Hall effect technology now appears in both controllers and keyboards. Magnetic sensors measure stick position without friction, which reduces the risk of stick drift. Brands such as GameSir and 8BitDo already use these sensors.

Magnetic keyboards are also advancing. They read how deeply a key is pressed and let you adjust the actuation point for each game. A shallow point suits strafing, while a deeper one prevents accidental presses.

Controllers are more comfortable for long sessions and can be used from the couch when a PC is connected to a TV. Keyboard and mouse need desk space and the right chair height. Some games even support both inputs at once, such as movement on the keyboard and aiming on a controller.

Players who often switch between a controller and keyboard and mouse can use Steam Input. It lets you remap buttons and share controller profiles for each game, so you don’t have to redo your settings every time you change games.

Remake and remaster are often treated as the same thing, but they’re not. Learn the differences, the advantages of each, and the latest remake and remaster games of 2026.

Remake vs. remaster often confuses players when an old game comes back. Both terms bring a classic game to modern devices, but the work involved and the end result are different. In 2026, Summer Game Fest showed off many remakes and remasters at once.

What Are a Remake and a Remaster?

A remaster updates an existing game to fit today’s devices. Developers improve only the visuals and technical side, while the gameplay and content stay the same. Examples include God of War 3 Remastered and The Last of Us Remastered.

A remake rebuilds a game from scratch while keeping its original core. Developers are free to change the gameplay, graphics, and even the story if needed. The result feels like a new game, not just a graphics update. Resident Evil 2 Remake and Final Fantasy VII Remake fall into this category.

Final Fantasy VII Remake shows how far a remake can go. It uses the characters and setting of the 1997 version, then adds real-time combat, cinematic presentation, and major story changes. Players who know the original will find a lot that is new.

Differences and Advantages of Each

The biggest difference is the scope of the changes. A remaster polishes the existing game, while a remake builds it again from the ground up. That makes a remaster a good fit for players who want to experience an old game with a fresher look.

The advantages of a remaster are cost and time. Studios can finish one faster and more cheaply because they reuse old assets. Players also get an experience very close to the original, and the price is usually lower too.

The advantage of a remake is creative freedom. Developers can fix old mistakes and add new content. This approach suits games that would feel too dated if they were only remastered. In return, a remake takes more money and development time.

Studios have several reasons for taking this route. Games with an existing fan base are a relatively safe bet. Remakes and remasters also reach younger players who never played the original. Both also keep important titles playable on new devices.

Latest Remakes and Remasters of 2026

Gothic 1 Remake was released on June 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. Its game world is 10 to 30 percent larger than the 2001 version. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the 2013 game, was released on July 9, 2026.

More titles are still on the way. Game Informer reports that a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been officially announced with a 2026 release window. Meanwhile, a remaster of The Wolf Among Us is scheduled for the 2026 holiday season. Capcom is also bringing Code: Veronica into the remake family.

In the RPG genre, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is on the list of 2026 remakes, while Tales of Berseria Remastered is on the list of remasters. Another title, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, is scheduled for release on November 3, 2026. Release dates can change, so players should check official information from the developers.

The line between the two is not always clear. Demon’s Souls and Diablo II Resurrected sit in a gray area between remaster and remake. TechRadar advises players to adjust their expectations, since these labels are never truly absolute. Players should read the official list of changes before buying, especially when comparing a remake vs. a remaster.

Audio podcast vs. video podcast: which is right for beginners? Compare costs, equipment, and the latest 2026 data from Indonesia before you pick a format.

The question of audio podcast vs. video podcast comes up almost every time someone decides to start their own show. The answer is more complicated than it was a few years ago, because listener habits have shifted toward video.

Edison Research found that video podcast consumption passed audio-only for the first time in the third quarter of 2025. Among weekly active consumers, 82 percent watched video, while 78 percent only listened to audio. In 2023, the numbers were the other way around: 89 percent for audio and 73 percent for video.

Even so, video has not replaced audio. Triton Digital found that only 7 percent of consumers watch video exclusively, while 80 percent both watch and listen. Cumulus Media reported that 53 percent of weekly active consumers watch, 23 percent listen with the video minimized, and 24 percent choose audio only.

Podcast Listening Habits in Indonesia

A Snapcart survey in March 2026 covered 1,638 respondents in Indonesia. Of those, 76 percent used YouTube or YouTube Music to enjoy podcasts. Spotify came second at 16 percent, followed by Apple Podcasts at 3 percent.

A Populix survey conducted September 1–3, 2026, covered 1,075 internet users across 34 provinces. Video podcasts had been consumed by 72 percent of respondents in the past 30 days, compared with 45 percent for audio podcasts. These figures show that Indonesian audiences are more familiar with the video format.

On frequency, 43 percent of Snapcart respondents listened to podcasts less than once a week, while 17 percent listened every day. Comedy was the favorite genre at 33 percent, followed by education at 30 percent. And 67 percent of respondents enjoyed podcasts while relaxing at home. Beginners should settle on a clear topic before thinking about format.

Audio vs. Video Podcasts for Beginners

The easiest way to compare audio and video podcasts is by startup cost and working time. A basic audio setup costs about USD 100. A beginner only needs one microphone and a quiet room, and editing is faster, too.

Video requires a camera, lighting, and a tidy background. Editing takes longer because of the footage and clip cuts. That workload often overwhelms beginners early on.

Aspect

Audio Podcast

Video Podcast

Startup cost

Low

Higher

Editing time

Short

Longer

Main platforms

Spotify and Apple Podcasts

YouTube

How listeners find you

Podcast app search

Recommendations and clips

How it’s enjoyed

Can be enjoyed while doing other things

Requires watching the screen

Still, video has a reach that is hard to ignore. YouTube says podcast content on its platform has more than 1 billion monthly active viewers. In October 2025, viewers also spent more than 700 million hours per month watching podcasts on living room devices.

Meltwater analyzed online conversations from March through August 2026. Conversations about video podcasts grew 39 percent, while audio grew 21 percent. On average, a single video podcast post drew 341 interactions, compared with 273 for audio. Even so, audio still has far more conversation volume: 10.8 million posts versus 908,456 for video.

Consistency still matters more than format. Podcast Index counts 4.74 million podcast feeds, but only about 9.8 percent have released an episode in the past 90 days. Many beginners quit before reaching their 10th episode.

Which Format Beginners Should Choose

If your budget and time are limited, start with audio. Focus your energy on sound quality and the substance of the conversation. This format lets you publish episodes regularly without a heavy editing load.

If you want to be on YouTube, use one camera with a simple background. Record once, then publish two versions: the full video and an audio-only version. About 31 percent of independent creators already publish full video episodes alongside standard audio. Apple Podcasts also began supporting video episodes in early 2026.

Produce 10 trial episodes, then check which ones get the most listens or views. Data from your own audience will answer the audio vs. video podcast question for the show you are building.

A guide to the Avengers watch order from Iron Man to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, plus the Avengers: Doomsday release date of December 18, 2026, with sources.

The Avengers watch order now has one important addition. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out and, according to ABC News, is the 38th MCU film. Avengers: Doomsday follows in theaters on December 18, 2026. That makes the list of films to watch before Doomsday longer than it was last year.

The main Avengers series has four films. Here are their U.S. release dates, based on the Rotten Tomatoes list cited by detikJateng.

The Avengers: May 4, 2012

Avengers: Age of Ultron: May 1, 2015

Avengers: Infinity War: April 27, 2018

Avengers: Endgame: April 26, 2019

Avengers: Doomsday will be the fifth film in the series. It reunites the Avengers team on the big screen for the first time since 2019.

MCU Release Order From Phase 1 to Phase 6

Release order is the safest way for new viewers to go. It preserves the story’s surprises and helps viewers follow the post-credits scenes. Rotten Tomatoes divides the MCU films into six phases.

Phase 1: Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), The Avengers (2012)

Phase 2: Iron Man 3 (2013), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Ant-Man (2015)

Phase 3: Captain America: Civil War (2016), Doctor Strange (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Black Panther (2018), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Phase 4: Black Widow (2021), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Eternals (2021), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)

Phase 5: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), The Marvels (2023), Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), Captain America: Brave New World (2025), Thunderbolts* (2025)

Phase 6: The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025), Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026), Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026)

All four main Avengers films fall within Phases 1 through 3. According to detikPop, the story from Iron Man to Endgame forms the Infinity Saga. Phases 4 through 6 steer the story toward the multiverse.

Viewers short on time can use Popverse’s condensed list, which picks the key titles from Iron Man to The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Popverse compiled it in April 2026, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not included.

Chronological order suits a rewatch marathon. According to detikJateng, the story timeline starts with Captain America: The First Avenger, followed by Captain Marvel and Iron Man. Plex notes that Disney+ places the series Eyes of Wakanda first on the MCU timeline. This order is more complicated than release order.

Latest MCU Movies and Series Before Doomsday

The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens Phase 6. According to detikJateng, it premiered in Indonesia on July 23, 2025. Doctor Doom first appears in this film.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened on July 31, 2026. ABC News reports that it beat Avengers: Endgame’s opening weekend record. Koran Jakarta, citing the Associated Press, says it has passed $2 billion worldwide. Local reports as of August 2026 say Marvel has not yet explained how the film connects to the plot of Doomsday.

Disney+ series also add to the Phase 6 story. According to Vandal, Wonder Man premiered on January 27, 2026. Rotten Tomatoes already includes VisionQuest in its list of Marvel series. Popverse lists Daredevil: Born Again season 2 as a 2026 project.

Release Date and Key Facts for Avengers: Doomsday

Disney has set Avengers: Doomsday for an exclusive theatrical release on December 18, 2026. Local reports say Disney changed the film’s schedule in May 2025. According to ABC News, ticket sales in the United States have already opened.

Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU as Doctor Doom, the film’s main villain. The Fantastic Four are also part of the story. Joe and Anthony Russo return to direct. A teaser released on December 23, 2025, confirmed that Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers.

For Indonesia, local reports say the film arrives in December 2026. Cinema XXI, CGV, and Cinépolis are reported to have confirmed that month. The specific release date in Indonesia had not been officially announced as of late August 2026.

ScreenX’s list shows a re-release, Avengers: Endgame Encore, on September 25, 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars follows on December 17, 2027. Popverse says nearly all MCU films and series are available on Disney+, so viewers putting together an Avengers watch order for a home marathon can use that service.
