This remaster of the 2002 kaiju fighting game starts rolling out today.
Atari has announced that Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered launches on November 3 on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Switch 2. The game is developed by Pipeworks Studios, the studio behind the original, with Atari as publisher.
The original game first came out on the Nintendo GameCube in 2002 and reached Xbox in 2003. Many players consider it the best Godzilla game. The new version has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5.
Atari announced the remaster on June 6, 2026. It then released an official trailer and confirmed the launch date. Players who are on the fence can judge the game’s quality from that video.
Platforms, Price, and Release Schedule
Atari has confirmed the game for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Some outlets have also reported that it is available on the original Nintendo Switch. However, the official Steam listing and most media list only the four platforms above. Check each digital store before you buy.
The game costs $29.99, and players can pre-order through Atari’s official website. The physical Switch 2 edition costs more, at $39. Prices in rupiah depend on exchange rates and each store’s policies.
On PS5, the PlayStation Store has scheduled the launch for 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on November 3, 2026. That is equivalent to 9:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time). Earlier, a free demo was available on Steam until October 27.
Features and Gameplay of Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered
Players can pick one of 12 monsters from Godzilla’s roster of foes. They fight in real-world cities, on Monster Island, and on an alien mothership. The cities can be destroyed during battle.
The game supports local co-op and a new online multiplayer mode. The unlock system has also been improved. Players can unlock monsters, arenas, and gallery items in any order.
There is one change to the roster. Mechagodzilla 2 has been replaced with the original Mechagodzilla from the Showa era. According to a review from But Why Tho, the game adds no new monsters beyond that swap. Longtime fans will find that it plays almost the same as the 2002 version.
November 3 also happens to be Godzilla Day. The remaster also arrives ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, which releases on November 19. That gives players about two weeks to try this game first.
